I believe the JDM dvd/cd player has the wrong region code to work with US dvd's/cd's. So unless you have a bunch of Japanese market movies and music cd's your S O L. The radio tuner would also be incorrect.

are you telling me the dvd navigation system can read cd's/dvd's but only japanese cd's/dvds???? That doesn't make much sense to me for some reason....
I just want the screen found in the first pic here: http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/Yos...rl23/JDM2.html
I would also like for all the climate controls to work, and since they're not the digital ones I thought it'd be possible...
Look on the back of a DVD case... you'll see a globe with a number on it (Region 1 [US]). That means that your DVD will only play in a DVD player designed to play region 1 DVD's... period. I'm not sure which region code Japan is, but I'm pretty sure its not region 1 compatable.

dont even think about it .. too much money, hassel, and headache...
like bb6flier mentioned ealier u can only play japanese stuff in the cd/dvd.. and for the climate control ull need lot more than just the climate control..
if u really want to get dvd player, just get in-dash dvd player..

I think you got me confused. I don't want the digital climate controls, I'm not talking about the type-s stuff. The Sir S-Spec stuff is what I want. I don't think the climate controls are digital but they are arranged different. And i think that dvd navigation looks so much better then them flip up ones too....
Since when do regular music CD's have a region??? CD's can be played on any player even data ones as long as the Operating System supports them.
Only DVD's have a region code and most times this can be changed as well in hardware.
TL/CL not sure about RL have climate controls partly-integrated into the navigation system.

i dont think they were talking about cd's... they were saying it would be pointless to buy because it can only play japanese DVD's which would pretty much make it worthless
haha, yeah i was being too technical.
if you can't use non-Japanese DVD's then it would be useless.
BUT, navigation DVD's are not region coded AFAIK... so if you want it to navigate then you might have a shot. The Acura ones do look very similar to those in the pictures.

Where are you getting all these parts? I have had people in Japan Salvage Yards help me find Preludes before, but most were not even worth it because almost everything was gone. Crashed Ludes are very rare in Japan.
I am just curious cause it took me months to track down some of my parts.
