Distributor leak - Honda Prelude Forum

My prelude is leaking oil out of the distributor housing. Now would this just be the o-ring? or should the whole distributor be replaced? and does a distributor leak cause any lack of power? Thanks

I've never heard of oil leaking out the distributor. That's pretty crazy.

I will tell you oil leaking into the distributor isn't good at all.

I would be more worried about why that's happening rather than how much power you're losing.

yeh theres this sludge under that appears to be oil and the mechanic told me its leaking so idk if its actually coming from the distributor..

you sure its not a headgasket problem? that could have the oil seeping out and collecting around the bottom of it but I dont see why the distributor would be leaking oil.
