Discontinuation of 5th gen parts pissing anyone else off?

I bought my Prelude September of 2001 and I knew that the Prelude was going to be discontinued, but the thing is, I thought companies i.e. Mugen, Spoon would still make parts for it though. I don't know for a fact that they are going to discontinue producing these parts but have heard it from a few semi-reliable sources, and I'm PISSED! Many of these parts I want, and don't have the money for right now, but will. First the car was discontinued and now the OEM kit... I hope the aftermarket proceeds to produce parts for 5th gens, it isn't like they all just suddenly disappeared, or everyone has all the aftermarket parts for it already...

Any info, or feedback? Please tell me it is stopping at the OEM kit or is it like a virus that is going to hit anyone that make parts for 5th gens and are going to **** out on us also?

i wouldn't worry about the aftermarket company. In integra isn't being made anymore, and there are plenty of companies still making parts. No worries in the aftermarket world. It is just the OEM world you gotta worry about.

Yes, but the integra was made more years and was a LOT more popular.

But thanks, your reply has calmed me down just a tad

OEM is actually REQUIRED to make parts for the car at least 6 years after it goes out of production. Due to repairs and such, so OEM really isn't the problem. However, OEM accessories will start to die off, so get them now if you want them.

Consider this though, the 5th Gen Prelude sold VERY VERY poorly in Japan which was part of the reason why it was killed off. I believe other than the first two years, it did not sell more than 1000 units per year in Japan.

As long as JRSC and the Greddy Turbo is available for our car.. I'll be okay.
