Does your state require front plates? If not, you should file a complaint with the dealer, and then with Honda America. There have been several situations reported here where the owner complained enough to the point where Honda made the dealer install a new front bumper... Honda America's policies do not allow their dealers to install advertising front plates.

Personally, if my dealer had tried that crap on my car that I had just paid $21000+ for, I would have refused to take delivery until they fixed it...

I don't think so... The bumper has factory holes for the plate that are coverd with a plastic top.

The same happened with me and my state (IN) does not require a front plate. Unfortunately, my car was brought down from a state (IL) that does, so I can't really complain too much. The holes still make me sad though.

The holes with the plastic plugs that come with the bumper are not for US version license plates. You have to drill two holes in order to accommodate our license plate. I know how ugly that two holes look, but the dealer has replace the bumper for you... what are you whining about?

The ultimate insult is when a dealer DOES put his ad plate on the factory bracket and then drills holes in the cover. Follow that with the dealer removing the plate and covering everything up with your brand new lower bra-on the brand new car on the showroom floor. HONDA made a huge design error they refuse to admit to. My dealer brought my car from Ohio to PA and the dealer there could not care less about other states. They just slap those things on right off the trailer. You guessed it-they are a huge dealership that does not even look at the mounting points-my dealer showed me where to put the bracket without drilling any additional holes.
Meanwhile I paid $451 to get the holes filled (4 of them) and the bumper repainted. My dealer-very nice large shop-has given me ALL of my oil changes for the last 3 years and discounted repairs to make up for the other dealer.
Go figure

You must have a wide ass license plate then, because US license plates don't fit those holes.....

My Prelude came with a metal license plate mounting bracket that screws into the spot where the plugs are on the front bumper. I live in a state where front plates are not issued. My new Prelude came with it laying in the trunk. I assumed that it was in there from the factory... If the dealer uses this bracket, there is no need to drill into the bumper anyway.

Mine has four holes in the front, the factory holes (not drilled) I capped...but like all of you the dealer drilled additional holes and the caps dont fit those....still looks better than having a front plate in general.

WHAT??? $451??? You could've just got a BRAND NEW bumper ($150) plus painting for a total of less than $350! Well, 3 years of free oil change + discounted service are very nice tho.

i didn't drill it into the bumper... i told the dealer that i didn't want it drilled in, they have me one of those extender that attached from behind and holds the lisence plate infront of the bumper... if you don't want to get it drilled.. just ask for that..

i live in CA,, i wonder if that makes ANY difference...... dam those dealer people...

Along with the extra holes in the front bumper...my dealer actually took off my "Type SH" sticker from the trunk lid and replaced it with their dealer sticker. Then took the dealer sticker off and put it on the other side above the "DOHC Vtec" sticker. And left the Type SH sticker off. The way I noticed was because they didn't clean the adhesive off and you could still see their sticker on the other side where the Type SH should have been. I had them order me a new one, then they wanted to put the sticker on themselves....NO....I put it on.

I dont have holes drilled in my front bumper either.. luckily.. but of all places... I woulda figured that california would have a mandatory thing about that.. oh well.. last time I got pulled over.. I just told the officer that it came from the factory like that.. he let me go.

I just got my plates yesterday and I watched them put on my back plate. I told them that i didnt want them to put on my front plates even though its required in my state to have them. I made sure to ask them to show me how to attach the front plate just in case I decide on putting on and they said that I just have to drill and screw my plates into the bummber where the two bumps on my front bumper is.

well seeing as to how RSX-S's are offerend in premium white pearl. The guys with premium white pearl preludes might be able to try and get the plugs from the RSX-S. The plugs I got from handaaccessories.com didn't fit.
