DC Sports Header Advice Poll

hey everyone, heres the deal. I ran a search on DC Sports' headers and came up with A LOT of stuff but nothing focused enough to answer all of my questions. I was originally going to purchase the stainless steel version because a) I thought it looked really good, b) heard that the ceramic had problems working with the catylitic converter, and c) its the more expensive model so it must be better right?

anyways, in the short time that I've been on PO.com, I've seen that many people here instead prefer the ceramic model. aside from how horrible (no offense ImagePree) the SS looks if not cleaned properly when first installed - what are some of the pros/cons to each one?

so which one retains heat better/works better with the cat? which one is more durable? which one is better for performance? how does one clean the stainless properly so that it won't look like sh*t? does the CC maintain its original external appearance?

thanks in advance to everyone and keep in mind that your opinions will have a direct influence on my future purchase!

I would disagree with all three of your observations...A) the ceramic one looks better B) I've never heard of any problems with the ceramic/catalytic converter (are you referring to installation or combined use with?!) and C) more money isn't always better.

Also, no matter how well you clean/treat the SS DC headers...they're still goin to look like **** later on....unless you like the rainbow look or have a wildly painted car with lots of pearl in it that will match the color of your headers If you clean the ceramic headers, they won't look bad at all, but SS will change colors within the hour after you start driving with the headers for the first time.

From what I've heard, the ceramic does retain heat better (I think that's why the SS changes color so badly - maybe not tho - I'm not an expert) and I have also heard of them crackin, but that's very, very unlikely. I don't know of anyone that has actually had them crack, cept for the member on PO that dented them when he hit the driveway way too hard (too fast).

I've had mine on for a few months and I really like them. They perform well and still look great. I'm sure others such as mugen could've gotten more gains, but I'm not willing to pay 2-3 times more for 2-3 more HP.

If you still think that more money always means better, then I suggest you buy the mugen headers. some of the members here have them and like them as well. I don't think that you'll be disappointed with them....just clean them before installation.

The CC ones will probably crack after 3-4 years of use. I have had a DC CC on my Accord for almost 2 years and I think I see a spot where a crack will be in the future. The cracks usually are where the primaries come together. I have scraped mine a bad a few times and they're are no cracks there. I don't have a slammed ride so it's not excessive vibration either.

I personally will buy the Greddy SS header when I do my swap. If I had a 97+ lude I would get a DC CC header though cause I'm not impressed with what happens to the DC SS over time.

..hey guys thanks for voting on the poll but more comments would be great. I'm getting won over by the ceramic side but I'd still like to hear more about ceramic vs. stainless durability (assuming you don't abuse it)~ keep it coming!

why dont u just keep the stock header, and not have to worry about the krackin, or the color changing, besides its not like headers are gonna do much n e way.
