DC Ceramic Header Review

sup guys...i just installed some DC 4-2-1 ceramic coated headers on my car. thanks to everyone who helped me out with all the questions I had about install, parts, etc. well anyways I decided to write a little review since this is what I search for but couldnt find the answer. I have a 2001 base model prelude by the way.

Install:
For the install, a breaker bar is a must! I had a 4 foot breaker bar with a really big rachet to remove the bolts that connect the downpipe to the header. anyways, the install took about 30 minutes, not including the 30 minutes to let the car cool down. I was able to get my hands on some power tools, so the install went pretty well. All the stock bolts were used in the install and the gaskets were replaced.

Looks:
First glance at the headers, way better looking then the stock header (heat shield removed). The stock header had heat discoloration along with rust all over. The ceramic coating added a nice look to the engine bay.

Performance:
After the install, my GReddy PE catback definately sounded a bit quieter. With my hand placed over the headers in the engine bay, you could feel less heat from the headers compared with the stock headers. I would have to say that driving the car under normal conditions (under 5k rpm) I couldnt feel any difference except if I was going uphill. I could feel the added torque the headers provided. When VTEC kicked in 1st gear, it pulled harder than it did before. The sound was also a bit deeper also, but could was still quieter than my AEM intake.

Overall, I would definately recommend DC ceramic coated headers. Improved high end HP and midrange-top end torque. Quieter exhaust note but deeper engine bay sound. Considering that this was my final mod to complete the bolt ons category (I/H/E), it was definately worth the money and time to install. I do not know how much power it would have given to a stock motor, but paired with an intake and exhaust, a header does wonders

the only heat shield i removed as the one that coves the stock headers inside the engine bay. nothing else was removed. yeah, i had to use the longest socket wrench extrension i had find to get to that one.

anytime guys...i wish i had something like this when i was deciding between headers...but anyways hope it helped everyone who needed some input, overview, etc about the dc cc headers

i have a GReddy Power Extreme catback. mine wasnt as loud as before, but it still sounds nice and smooth. My dad tells me that he cant hear me come up the block anymore, but to me its still loud since it starts alarms off all the time

I like the DC headers, for some reason, when i was stock, the vtec in 3rd gear sounds weak, now the sound is much more pronounced, and my tanabe is not louder but deeper, just what i hoped.
