Damn headlight bulbs!!!

G-Dammit!! This is the 3rd time i had one of my headlights blow. This time it was the drivers side. At least the drivers side lasted me 10 months. More than i can say about the passenger side which i had it blow the day i put it in... and it blowing around x-mas time. I have the cheapy $10 Hiper industries bulbs, but i don't think that should have anything to do with the bulb going out so fast. Do any of you guys have problems with any other bulbs having such a short life-span or do you think this has something to do with my headlight wiring? I don't wanna go get some really nice bulbs and then have those blow on me so i thought i'd get some feedback on this issue b4 doing anything else. I was also thinking about going back to the dealers to pick up the stock bulbs and try those... but you all know how THAT goes... dealer is gonna charge me an arm and a leg.

i've been through so many sets of bulbs, you have no idea. i'm currently using these bulbs that are pretty nice though. they come with a 1 year warranty, and on top of that they're cheap as hell. everytime they blow out, i just take em into the store i got them at, and exchange them for new ones. they're made by "max motorsports" and they're called "super white XE" or something along those lines.

I'm using Catz Galaxy White bulbs.. they've lasted a year so far.. all other bulbs before that blew up within 3 months or so. Well.. the fake Xenon ones..stay away from those.. I still have little fragments of glass in my headlight from them exploding.

my first set of polargs lasted around 7 months, then one blew. threw in another pair of em,and one of em blew after 2months. I'm kicking myself for throwing away my first pair....i could have gotten a working pair now instead of driving around with my fogs and signal lights on only - since im too stingy to get myself another working pair right now.

Catz Galaxy Whites...

I would buy some bulbs that have a warranty on them, so your not buying new bulbs every other month.

u wanna know why the bulbs burn out so fast?????? i have come to the conclusion that having ur car lowered adds to the life of the bulbs cause when u hit a hard bump like a sewer or something, all u hear is big bang and i think that big bang loosens the **** in the bulb.......heres my proof: me and my buddy both bought the same bulbs for our ludes more than a year ago....im slammed and hes not....i have been through like 4-5 sets since then and he has never changed em......figure that one out boys!!

Perhaps you've already tried this but do you clan them before putting them into the houseing (even if your fingers haven't touched the bulb)? I've never had (*knock on wood*) a bulb go in the 5 cars (all with aftermarket bulbs) I've driven over
the past 10 years.

The Polarg bulbs look nice at night...but aren't as nice as the Galaxy Whites. They cost around the same..plus the Galaxy's haven't blown up on me yet..

not sure your question is directed at me dan, but if it is, you can buy them at trick trucks, they're all over maryland, and at new again in silver spring. go to trick trucks though, b/c they're only 30 bucks there. i bought mine for 40-50 bucks at new again..if i remember correctly.
