Crankshaft pulley wobble......New Guy....

Bought a 2000 this past spring. 80,000 miles on it. No problems. Beautiful North Carolina car. (I am in Ohio, rust capitol of the nation) A few weeks ago my wife was in the bank drive thru and it started 'clicking/ticking' then pow! all kinds of racket. Turns out the front pulley (harmonic balancer?) fell off. I am EXTREMELY busy at work so I just had it towed to a shop and 'fixed'. Got the car back and it sounded awful. Motor sounded like a mid 80's gran am. Not good. The new pulley was wobbling all over. So I took it back. Turns out the tensioner was wacked. Replaced that and got another new pulley. Got the car back. Sounds like new. No noise. Pulley still wobbling all over. It's so bad that after a short drive the belts smell and are very hot. They won't last very long like this, not to mention I just can't trust the car....
Is this a common problem? I used a dial indicator and checked crankshaft end play and it's about .006". Anyway it's not moving back and forth, it's 'wobbly', but not loose, on the crank. Before I pull this motor, any real ideas? I cancelled the insurance and it's sitting in the garage now. (winter storage was upon me, anyway)
I cannot figure out how the crank could have possibly bent.... Any good ideas on a replacement crank if I need one? I see there is a Scat crank available for the H22 motors. Anything available for the 23? Thanks in advance for any help!

Sounds like you got a bent crankshaft. I have the same problem also. My pulley wobbles, and I was told to replace the motor. I don't have the money for it, so what I do is replace the belts every 3-4 months. I been driving like this for 2 years now.

I went through two crank pulleys, first one replaced under warranty and the second I replaced with a used unit. A few people said it most likely happens with a pulley thats been over torqued.
