Crankshaft pulley slipped!! need advice!!

I need some advice on what to do to my engine...here are the details...
the bolt on my crank pulley managed to work its way loose and caused my pulley along with the steel key to slip out.this caused my engine to die out on me and was unable to start up the engine. I reinstalled everything and now, my engine seems to be running fine. VTEC engages nicely and the engine doesnt seem to be sluggish or sputter. what I'm wondering is, is are there any long-term negative effects on my engine? the steel key slipped out through what looked like 2 other rotating components that were powered by the crankshaft. I noticed that my crankshaft wouldturn, but my cam gears nor my timing belt would turn when i rotated the crankshaft. Could this have thrown my valve timing off?
what should i do now? the engine seems to be running fine. I talked to one of my friends about it today and he said that my engine will run fine for now, but in a few days, everything will go to hell and eventually, my engine will be shot. can any one help me on this? any advice/input/help will be greatly appreciated!

The same thing happened on my old car! - a 1993 Prelude VTEC with only 68000mi. The crank pulley bolt broke. It just sheared in two with part of it stuck in the crank. The pulley flew off. The key that holds the timing belt in time flew off. The pistons hit the valves. The motor was messed up...

I ended up replacing the motor. I sold the original motor for $400. And then I sold the car with the new motor...
