Crank Position/ TDC sensor

How important is this sensor? I need to replace it soon.. Keeps throwing a cel.. Cel comes back in 3 days depending on how much i drive it... Any feedback on this is appreciated..

Very important...
It is one of the ones that the ECU absolutely needs to run the car properly.

Yup... it's located on your oil pump housing...



You sure it's the sensors that are bad? I mean, did you check the wiring + harness to make sure there isn't a short or anything?

Very expensive sensor. Not sure what it goes for in the US, but it's roughly $300 CDN.

I havent been able to visually inspect it.. Is it that easy to get to?? I know it's the sensor.. I diagnosed my car using a paperclip, and looked up the cel code 8 and it said crank position/ TDC sensor.. So i figure i have to replace it.. since my car has 144k..

I dont know.. car is going on the lift today.. if i can easily inspect it... I will check the connections and such
