cracked trans

well i changed my transmission fluid today and i let my brother tighten up the bolts....just what i feared he over tightened and cracked the damn part where the bolt to fill the tranny threads in...after an arse kicking and some jb weld the leak stopped, i guess my question is,does this stuff hold forever or am i gonna have to replace that part of the tranny? so far no leaks and shifting does feel smoother, but i'm paranoid none the less. sorry if wrong forum...manual by the way...

yeah i'm still under warany, but what kin of story could i make up for them to cover it? i was gonna say i hit something and used the jb weld as a quick fix to make it home and to the dealer? but when a rock hit the radiator on my accord they didn't cover it. said it was "normal wear and tear". i hate dealers

here's the best story for warrenties for anything... it works a lot for me.. kee kee

PRETEND YOU DON"T KNOW JACK! when they say transmission fluid.. pretend you don't even know it! when they ask how did it happen? just say.. i donno~ if they find out that you've been messing and moding, and doing stuff on your own, they will basically point finger at you and hold you responsible for it... just be like... "my car's weird... friend of mine told me my transmission fluid (or something) is bad? i donno what he means.. so i brought it here" haha that might do the trick~ i hope...

i would do that, but it is pretty obvious i,or someone did something to it cuz the jb weld is hella noticable....i had a ford when iwas 16. i used jb weld on the block and that ****e stayed good for the life of the car, so i'm not TOO worried about it, but now i just have that nagging feeling something could go wrong.this is my baby, she was abused by the hands of a man i whored her out to ,and now i feel she will betray me..j/k

My friend's dad blew up the valve cover of his boat motor and put it back together with jb weld with no problems.
I just saw on TV, Steph Papadakis blew up his intake manifold and the whole thing was put together with JB weld. My friend swears by this stuff. We used it to seat the nozzles on my friends direct port setup, no problems there either. You should be fine, but it's worth a try to get it replaced under waranty. Tell them you took it to some shop, and they messed it up.

Jesus man.. if the tranny is ok now... putting a turbo on it would almost for sure cause some issues.

well the damn thing is leaking today, i looked under th car before i went to work and a huge puddle of tranny fluid is just laughing at me i think i will try to sand it down and do it again, maybe this will work. but i think i'm gonna play the dummy game at the dealer. i'll tell them i put that stuff on so i didn't have to be towed,i'm scared that will void them covering it under warranty. does anbody know if i could just replace that part of the trans? it covers the gears,so i imagine it just comes off at that spot? if so i guess i will comb the junk yards for one and replace it...without my bro's helpwant everything perfect before the turbo...

yeah i think i'm gonna sand it down ,drain the fluid again, clean with some brake cleaner, and try it again.let it cure overnight before i refill the tranny. i think it din't work cuz thre was tranny fluid that dripped out like right when i started putting on the jb...if that doesn't work then i am gonna see if just that part can be replaced,if not i'm f*cked in the arse hard. i don't see having to replace the whole tranny over this small thing though.any one with a helms look and see if this part can be replaced or taken off?thanks
