Hey, everyone, just wanted to if any of u done a full body paint job on ur Lude, if u did I want to know the total price of a whole body paint job for a lude.
I am planning on painting my lude blue or White?
Like to get a knowing of what the cost is so I can start saving.
Most PROFESSIONAL quotes I've seen are $1500-$2000.

Where i live. To paint my whole lude cost me around $800 for base coats if u want like candy and stuff its extra. Really depends where you go.
I paid someone on the side $4000 to change CBM to champ white. My car was in pieces because they had to paint the door jambs and etc. I had also gotten the all the windows removed by a professional, so the painter can paint under the window gasket. It turned out great and I got what I paid for. He used PPG paint which to me is quality material.
I went to about 5-6 different shops around and looked at there work before choosing. One top of the line shop wanted 6k for base clear with no jambs included, but the were throwing in the wet sand in that price wich is pretty essential when getting your car painted, but to rich for my blood. I ended up going to a shop that charged me about $2500 for base/clear, with a wet sand. They also offered $150 for each additional layer of clear coat. I would recommend saving a set amount that you are willing to pay, then find a shop that has fresh work done to give you an idea.
Paint goes with the expression you get what you pay for.
the cheapest price, high quality job i have been quoted is 3500 canadien funds, and that is doing everything but not taking the engine out and the windows out and hwat not some one else needs to do that, these guys will prep and paint, assembly is someone else

If you want it done right with door jambs and engine bay painted, and all windows removed and get the color changed, you are probably looking at $3000+. I had a pretty good friend\co-worker paint my car (no color change) for $1000 labor, about $350 in materials (paint, tape, sandpaper, clear, etc.) and a buttload of beer that we both drank. I spent about $1500 and it was worth at least 2000-2500 if I woulda taken it to a shop and not gotten a discount because the painter was my friend. It's not cheap. Especially if you want a color change and you want it done correctly.

I want to know why you're asking us this. If you're going to have it done for you, then why aren't you going around your area to find quotes from painters that are going to do it? How accurate can we possibly be? Or do you plan on driving your car hundreds of miles to a place people say to take it to?
Plus, the place you take it to to get the quote, you'll probably get some tips on how to save money from the shop, like if you take off some panels (to include taking off the sunroof assembly, fenders, bumpers, etc.) or even if you sand it yourself. You could save about $500 perhaps with prep work the shop won't have to do.
If you're going to paint the car yourself, which I don't know if you have the tools, skills, access to a paint booth, etc. Then you'll want to know where you can find paint. Go to PaintScratch Touch-Up Paint (rs), Spray Cans, Spray Paint, Paint Pens, Car Paint, Automotive Paint and they sell paint in all different kinds of sizes all the way up to a gallon. I personally don't know how much paint it'll take to paint the Prelude, but I think if you go to a paint shop to ask, they'll be able to tell you. Or even the paintscratch.com website might be able to tell you recommendations.
Sorry, my quote was assuming he wanted to keep it the same color.
