Cornering too fast and bent my suspension arms with my 2001 sh.
Hey sup luders, well today i was cornering around the turn around 25mphs, and i got out of control and hit the curb with my front right rim. The rim is pretty scratched up and my wheel bent in at the bottom. Me and my friends checked it they said i have two broken suspension arms and maybe injuired my axle. And when i was driving home it is hella hard to steer, the steering wheel forces it to the right making it hard to steer. So im wondering if anyone has had this problem and knows how much it would cost to get everything fixed. Thanks guys.
Well that's a different story from your subject posting, sound like you don't love your lude, do that corning with control on the open road, and corner hard in an empty parking lot
Anyways that's a bummer, I'd go to junk yard and get the arm if there is excellent condition. But then again there probably not many SH's at the junk yards.
My 2 pennies
Almost the exact thing happened to me, i have a 00 SH, was driving home in the rain, long story short, another car lost control trying to cut in, I braked and avoided it (should have hit it, it was a new Altima, and would have made insurance alot easier). Anyway, it a pretty high curb at about 40kph, the wheel was was horizontal with the curb (as I was steering away) so when it hit, it hit flush (also scratching the hell out of rim). I think i hit harder or at a worse angle because my steering was completely shot. All said, there wasn't any body damage at all as the curb was a few cm lower, so all the damage was too the front right suspension and steering.
Insurance covered the whole thing without my premiums going up (that was a b_tch to work out, as I didn't hit the other car, therefore I was on my own, i won't get into the details).
Here's what got smoked
(keep in mind these are canuck prices here)
Hub ASSY 172.00
BRG ASSY 89.00
Wheel (got a new rim) 538.74 (ouch)
knuckle 363.00
Arm Comp 169.00
Link 60.00
G/box Comp 1330.00 (big ouch)
End set 54.00
Hope that much didn't go in your ride man (I think the fact that my wheel was horizontal and not vertical to the curb that screwed me so bad, otherwise I would have hopped up on it and just scratched the underside, maybe some skirt damage, I got lucky, insurance covered it, and it's as good as new.
I had a similar expierence with doing stupid sh1t in the winter and hitting a curb, for me on my other car i had to replace the lower control arm and new rim, the control arm was about 150 used, and i needed a new alignment...
**** man, it seems like u've screwed ur new lude up pretty fast. Didn't you just get it, and havne't you been racing it and doing stupid stuff to it, since you got it?
First off, I've gotta say that you're stupid for taking turns going 25mph around a corner on a street in your new Prelude Don't expect the ATTS system to save you. Already tearing it up like a dumb ass...Secondly, its going to cost quite a bit to fix, cause you will probably need a new axle, new steering arms, have your alingment redone, and you probably messed up your ATTS after doing all that....

best way to test your suspension is getting on one of those freeway with a loop. (the ones where you have to take a 360 degree down hill turn to get on).
Try doing 50mph on that.. you'll definitely feel the G's.
of course.. if you skid.. ur car rolls off the hill. -=] :good luck:
