Cooling Issues

Car just started overheating last week. the radiator just started leaking. (near the top, but not out of the cap or hoses) it must be a small hole because its "sprays out" like if you were to shake up a beer and puncture the can.

the car only starts to overheat when i'm at a stand still. the fans DO come on. so obviously the radiator leak is an issue and i found a radiator for about $70 but i wanna know what would have caused to radiator to leak in the first place, it looks really clean (as in i don't think its the original) I don't wanna replace the radiator if there is some other problem that will ruin the new radiator as well.

any ideas, suggestions... are there any shops that will check this out for free and tell me what wrong with it, then i can just go fix it myself (in sacramento)

It soudns like you had air in the coolant system. As for your leak in the rad, due to the pressure under the system, eventually the rads will leak. Especially if it is stock rad, the top where the rad is pressed together will usually leak first.
