hi i was planning on getting my head shaved to up the compression, i was also going to get the head ported and polished and bigger valves in it, will i be able to run only 93octaine gas or will i have to go up a grade, also if i have the apexi vtec controller will i have to get a fuel pressure riser, how much of a difference will be felt, i did get my thottle bodie bored out allready and i have a aem cia on. Let me know , thanks

those are all excellent things to do to increase efficiency in the way your engine works.. you can get your head port and polished and yeah valves and retainers will be a good idea ..and 93 octane should be good for a while, unless you decide to run crazy high compression then you shouldnt have to worry too much about the octane grade..

i was going to sigltly shave the head to lower the compression just a little bit, i did not want to worry about detionation problems, how much do you think the bigger valves and retainers will cost and which company should i buy it from. I also wanted to get my OEM intake manafold bored out and polished in the inside but i think i might need to get the engine balanced and blueprinted then and id have to get the cams grinded down to match the air flow, am i correct or and i over reacting. How much gains will i get being im bumping up the compression ratio a bit. Also does anyone sell a storker kit for our car to increase the 2.2 to a 2.4 or around a bouts.
