climate control lighting problems

ok heres the story...yesterday i finally found some spare time to paint my gauge bezels. after i was done, i put everything back in, checked to see all was good, and everything checked out. the thing i didnt notice till later was that my buttons for my rear defrost, AC, and closed/opened fan weren't lighting up with the rest of my interior. so basically, whenever i turn my parking lights/headlights on, those 3 specific buttons dont *light up*. im not talking about the light which indicates that that they are in use, but the actual back lighting so you can see the buttons in the dark. im pretty sure the gauges don't have anything to deal with that specific area of my climate control, but maybe im wrong? could someone help me out here? thanks

There are three tiny light bulbs that light up the whole climate control panel. The 3 buttons you are talking about are lit by one. Sounds like you may have a burnt out bulb. They are kinda a pain to get to. You have to pull off the trim piece and take the four screws out of the sides of the climate control panel and pull the panel out some. It won't come all the way out unless you disconnect the two wiring harness plugs and the cable for hot/cold slider. Try to get to the bulb without taking it all the way out. Getting the cable off/on sucks. You will a little white circle countersunk into the black plastic case. It is the back of the light bulb. With a small screwdriver you can turn it about a quarter of a turn to loosen it. It may be difficult to get out of the hole with removing the whole panel though. I messed with mine with everything out. You can then replace the bulb. I don't know where to get them other than you Honda dealer.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
