i was trying to clear out my sidemarkers and front turn signals and i ran into problems. when i took the sidemarker out, i tried to remove the lens part from the plastic so i could get started but it would not come off, it seems to be glued on, or molded on or something, same goes for the turn signals.
what can i do? my car is a 2001 SE.
i've never heard of anyone making clear side marker... you can buy them off ebay for like 10 bucks.
For the front turn signals, either use a dremel and cut the orange to tiny pieces, and pull them out with pliers, or use a soldering iron, and melt them into small pieces.

actually you could clear the sidemarkers.....after you take them off....use a hair dryer or heat gun or put them in the oven for a few minutes and get the glue hot. before you do this make an exact cardboard replica of the orange plastic cover shape and size...after you pull the orange off of the housing use the cardboard as a guide to cut a piece of clear plexiglass or the plastic out of a tray light (from overhead lights) this is kinda tricky but it can be done. use heat gun or place in oven for a few minutes to heat the glue back up.....apply some silicone on edges to prevent leakage and place back togeher....if you have c clamps you can clamp it down easily so that it glues tightly. i bought my sidemarkers....but i cleared out the turnsignals in the front an back using a soldering iron and needle nose pliars

You can't clear the sidemarkers since the whole lense is orange. As for the turn signals. I first hammered the lense out of place and tear the lenses piece by piece with a pliers.

look at the bottom middle grille. ther will be a half circle cut out beside each of the turnsignals....put a phillips screwdriver in there and feel around until you hit the screw.....its a plastic screw (i think) so be careful if it is i can't remember right off hand.

ok i have the turn signal here in my hand, but i cant tear the actual orange part away from the plastic to start clearing it out. you're saying i have to remove a screw from it?

ok....do you have the turnsignal in the front or the sidemarker on the side....if you are trying to clear the sidemarker its much easier to buy pre "clear" ones....if you have the turnsignal....i used a soldering iron.....melt an x from all four corners into the middle....i pushed down lil holes all the way thru the orange on the lines of the x i had "drawn" in. then i pushed it w/ needle nose pliars then pulled like a bish to get it out.

oh man, not one of my responses were of any help. after 30 posts on this topic, i still havent gotten my point through. first off, to the ppl who said buy the clear sidemarkers - I DID, i was talking about TURN SIGNALS if u read my above post, and not sidemarkers. now i gotta repeat myself here again for the 3rd time, i know all about using the soldering iron etc, I NEED TO FIND OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE LENS FROM THE PLASTIC PART OF THE TURN SIGNAL, NOT THE PLASTIC PART OF THE CAR, IVE ALREADY COMPLETELY TOOK OFF THE TURN SIGNAL OFF THE CAR AND I HAVE IT HERE IN MY HAND (LIKE I MENTIONED BEFORE, WHAT I NEED TO DO IS GET THE PLASTIC PART OFF SO I CAN GET IN THERE AND START USING A SOLDERING IRON TO MELT AWAY AT THE LENS.
not quite sure what you mean.... side MARKER? or corner lights??? side markers are attacked SIDE of front bumper... just buy one for $10 on e-bay or any other store... if you are talking about blinker light.... then.. you can clear it your self.. I DID~~
well.. figuring out how to take your blinker light should be pretty easy... if you look in, you'll see that there's a yellow plastic that is just attacked inside.. you need to get a soldering kit and make patches of holes through where the light bolb is inserted,,, DO NOT MELT OFF THE Bolb sockets!!! once you have pretty good amount of holes melted in the yellow plastic.. get a long NOT TOO LONG.. screw driver or something (or plier) and break it. you need to break it so it fits through the bolb socket so you can remove it.. once you exert enough force, you should be able to get it out CLEAN no problem~
took me about an hour and a half for both... you want to be super careful when you melt the plastic.. not to melt the other parts or anything.~ people say you'll get ticketed but...haven't got one yet~ hehe it sure makes your car look clean tho~
