Well I got my s**t pushed in by a scion tc the other day, so i've been looking for some ways to bring back some lost hp. I want to start with the injectors. I want to take them out but I want to get the internals of the injectors clean is there a good way to go about this. I've searched and couldn't find anything helpful. Please let me know. I was thinking an air compressor to the side with the filter but not sure how that would go.
I've had good results with Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner. A tech writer for a automotive magazine recommends using Shell V Power gas to keep the injectors clean.
How did you lose to a TC, was he modded up? was it your first time?
I took out a TC w/ i/h/e and some kind of a tune by a car and half while spinning in first gear for a good min. And i just have stock h22 with an ebay intake.
How many miles on your lude. The tc had a cai thats it, I've raced before thats why I was suprised. Does fuel injector cleaner really do the trick I've heard of big carbon build up in the Injectors.
ya the bolt got stuck and broke off he said it crossed thred and thays why they got a replacement engine so is there a why to fis it are do i need a new crank

135k. It will help a little but i doubt its going to be a day/night difference unless they are clogged up to the max.
what makes you think its your injectors? How about your rings, ignition, and a bunch of other factors that could be involved.
I have a 99 lude with 175k, It was ****ty when I first bought it, but with a full tune up along with GUMOUT fuel system cleaner, that usually does it for most cars. unless you've been filling up with crappy fuel and low grade octane.
well either way goodluck with whatever you decide to do man.

Thanks man but I was just looking for a method of cleaning them all the things you spoke of will be in the mail soon I'm just looking for a good way to go about it I dont mind taking the injectors out.
If anyone still cares I pulled the injectors replaced all the rings pulled the little filters out and sprayed carb cleaner in each injector let it sit for a little bit than shoved a pipe cleaner in there as far as I could and and blew out the left over carb cleaner. Put the injectors back in. Raced the same Scion and took him by a car length. Big difference not saying it will help everyone but it made a nice difference and got rid of my misfire.
I was pretty suprised I think stuff just gets caked against the walls of the injectors. The car sat for a winter. Do you happen to have a link to those sites for future purpose or should I Just use the google machine?
I don't have in unfortunately. Search on here or google... I'll find out where my neighbor sends his, he's an insane car modder/ fabricator, he knows all kinds of useful stuff
This is the place i sent mine in to. they did an awesome job, check it out. RC Fuel Injection
They send you a chart after they flow test them to see how they are doing. Great service. Only bad thing is if you don't have another injector set or car, there's some down time.
