It had oil and i added oil as I explained in the last thread. So again.... no one answers.. the posted question... SS aside... OIL change (or lack of it in my case) aside... I'm not trying to be all mod'ed out like I was asking cuz I was considering the HO JDM that puts out 220 HP but learned that motor was $1,000 higher than the standard and read the chip would add more for less.... knowing the auto eats HP.. I understand it may only be a 15-25 hp diff but hey... for $70... that's a little more than I had before..right... all I want to know is.. does that "chip" work, from someone who has knowledge with this "chip".

You'd be better off putting a 20lb dumbell in your trunk. In short: don't bother.
No : A lot of people claim that engines don't produce as much power as they could because of fuel economy or pollution control considerations. When cars had carburetors and not ECU controlled EFI, such compromises had to be made. Like for example the 350 cu Corvette engine in 1977 only put out about 200 hp and the 3 liter engine in the 1979 Toyota Supra only put out about 140 hp .This period in automotive History run by environmental wackos who mostly came from California was commonly refereed to as the automotive performance DARK AGES. With todays ecu EFI systems when you nail the throttle , your ECU goes in an open loop mode where it outputs to the engine an amount of fuel that gives your engine the best fuel/air ratio for max. power out and pollution or fuel economy conditions don't have to be a factor. During normal driving the engines ECU goes into a closed loop operation which yields max fuel economy and pollution control. Its the adaptability of todays EFI systems make that device your inquiring about irrelevant.

Reason: add funny pictue
ah i got wht i needed. Thank you, so ther verdict is in.... as soon as i can i need to convert my evil ss into a 5spd and do not bother with an ecu chip. Is there any mode for less than 500 or there abouts that i can do that wouldgive me say 20 to 40 hp increase. I would like to keep it for the most part stock as some mods tend to lower the life span of the car, i would i

Nitrous is the only cheap mod that will give that much power.
The closest real upgrade you could do would be my header + 2.5-3.0" exhaust for about $1000 total.

I'm talking w/ their tech support right now. They think I'm a girl w/ an 87 Grand national.
Quote:
You are now connected to 'Tony'
Tony Says: Welcome to Live help! This is Tony, how may I assist you today?
You Say: sorry... i got booted
You Say: I'm the girl with the 87 gn
Tony Says: No Problem. Does it have an Intake Ait Temperature sensor on the vehicle?
You Say: yes
You Say: it's all stock right now
Tony Says: Then yes, we can get you a chip for that vehicle
You Say: what makes your chip work so well? My boyfriend has one on his cobra and he loves it!
Tony Says: The chips work good on a lot of vehicles because the way it changes the air to fuel ratio, giving you those gains for a good price.
You Say: Sorry I'm such a girl about all this... what's the air to fuel ratio? Is it like horsepower?
Tony Says: It's the air coming in through the intake and the fuel coming through the injectors making a mixture.
You Say: o ic
You Say: so where does the chip go? do I hook it to the battery somewhere?
You Say: What about this? YouTube - Performance Chips Direct Scam!
Tony Says: It wires in to the Intake Air Temperature sensor on the intake tubing under the hood.
You Say: I see
You Say: that's ok. my man knows how to hook it up
Tony Says: Alright
You Say: will i get more performance if i have 2?
Tony Says: No you won't. You only need one for the one itnake air temperature sensor.
You Say: ok
You Say: did you see the video I sent?
You Say: i don't believe them
Tony Says: Yes I did. It is not a scam though. This does change the reading of the air intake temp sensor that the computer see's and in turn, the computer does change the air to fuel ratio
You Say: I have another video too... I'll send it
You Say: It's of me shoving a baseball bat in my pussy
You Say: It's actually in there right now
You Say: I'm thinking that I maybe should've used more lube, or maybe checked for splinters first
You Say: I can send nudes if you want
You Say: So can I get a discount on this chip?
You Say: um hello?
You Say: Hello??? I'm ready to place my order now!!!!
The other day after two weeks of getting the oil changed for the first time in a year and half I really cranked it up on the freeway screwing around with a prosche... I hit 135 (ish)
