I have a 5th Gen 1999 Prelude, Type SH with ~120k miles
Check engine light and Atts light both came on, pretty sure they always both came on. Ran diagnostics, here is what the lights are blinking
Engine Light:
8
ATTS Light: (in this order until the pattern was repeated)
43, 19, 43, 42, 72, 42, 43
Looking for what these codes mean, and any help appreciated. A link to a summary of codes would be great!
Sorry for the redundancy of these engine code posts. I did a search to find a list of codes, but all it came up was other people posting their codes, and not a reference list. So thanks!
So are the CEL codes the same as the ATTS codes? Or is there a separate list for the ATTS. Some of codes that the ATTS is flashing aren't listed on that provided link. Any ideas? The codes are correct, check it on several flashing cycles. Thanks again for the posts, replies, and links!
Did you ever figure this out? Sounds like the same issue I ran into a few months back. Turned out to be a bad (secondary) O2 sensor. I took it to a trusted dealer and they struggled with it overnight until they finally figured it out. It was throwing half a dozen disparate codes each time they reset it. Dealer price on the sensor was insane. After-the-fact, I found it online for a quarter the cost... easy to replace.
Like you, the ATTS light would turn on a second or two after the CEL. Dealer immediately pointed out it's not a coincidence, it's by design. When the ATTS unit sees that an engine code is thrown it turns itself off. When the O2 sensor was replaced, the ATTS kicked back in.
I tried to start running unleaded plus gasoline instead of the premium and my O2 sensor would fail about every 5K miles. When I pulled the sensor off it was full of black soot. I would just clean it off with carburetor cleaner and it was good to go for about another 5K. I now run the premium (like the manual states) and sure enough the sensors don't foul any more.
