Cheapest route would be buying the materials and painting them yourself. I'm pretty sure I remember someone doing a nice write up on how to do so.

just buy them used from SH owners that have body kits on their cars and have no use for them anymore

i think you would be better off taking them to a shop to get them painted rather than buying the whole new pieces

that is of course if you can't find it used or if you don't wanna paint them yourself.

but yes hparts is probably the cheapest place

Okay, I really dont want to go through the whole getting them painted thing, to be completely honest. I just thats a total pain I would rather have them painted from Honda. Or buy them from a type-SH owner.

Get them painted. Much cheaper that way. For the price you are paying in hparts, you probably can get a used set of the OEM kit.

go to www.paintscratch.com and buy cans of paint a clear coat. I think someone is doing this on here....check in the members ride section. I think this is the link. Talk to this guy. He may be able to help you out.

Hey, first post for me. I used paintscratch paint to try to paint my oem front lip and just so you know, the finish isn't really too great. The clear coat kind of let me down, because the finish was much more matte than I was expecting. If you look in Pious's write up for painting the plastic sideskirts and look at his imagestation pics, you'll notice the finish of the clear coat on the skirts doesn't reflect light anything nearly as well as the factory paint clear coat. The color of the paint is very good though, and with the stock sideskirts being so thin, some people wouldn't notice.

yah i just painted my sides today. it doesnt look too bad, considering im not too good at the painting stuff. yah the clear coat isnt that great, but the color match is pretty good. i probably coulda done a better job, but i was pressed for time so i kinda did things a little too fast, but it still came out pretty good. its not really a pain to do, just takes a while becuase you have to wait for the coats to dry and stuff.

I wouldnt ever trust myself to paint the base sides/rear.

Only because first of all I am not crazy about the plastic theyre made out of, second of all they look a little different (in shape) than the SH sides/rear, etc.

I would fork up the $600 and get the SH sides/rear already painted.

you would be a fool if you did that. I mean, you could probably find a used OEM kit for that kind of money. I personally wouldn't bother with painting the side skirts/rear valence or buying painted ones unless you can pick them up for cheap. It isn't going to change the looks of your car that much, and being how you are pressed for money (from what I can tell) for doing mods I would suggest keeping the body stock or slow down and buy one mod at a time.

I'll trade you with your original black sides and rear + 500 bucks

Yes. That's exactly the difference. SH ones are painted to match your body color, so it makes your car look lower by just a little bit (especially in the back)
