CB/PA in a prelude

I want to put a cb/PA system in a prelude.... mainly to mess around and talk with friends on the road/ yell at people when we're drunk late at night (i.e. "You in the leopard dress... please report to the the red honda)

anyway.... i have no idea where Id mount an antenna, and I have no idea where to mount the cb/pa unit inside the car..... what would you guys think?

and sorry for not posting in the accesories/ car audio section, no one hardly goes on that forum so I figured id get an answer here faster

thanks in advance guys

Under the radio? Under the seat? Have you even looked at units yet? If so post up what your thinking of getting and then better idea's can be thrown out there for ya. As for the antenna I would make a mount to mount it to that comes out from under the rear bumper. Many Vette owners do this so I know pics can be found. Or a magnetic one. Keep it in the trunk and pop it on the trunk when needed.

You trying to be Elwood Blues getting people to go to the show?

"Tonight only, the fabulous Blues Brothers. Rhythm and Blues review. The Palace Hotel Ballroom. Route 16. Lake Wazzapamani. The fabulous Blues Brothers show band and review.......
You, on the motorcycle!...
You two girls, tell your friends.....
Free parking. 2 dollar cover charge only folks.....
That's a lot of entertainment.
.......for two dollars.
...and it's ladies night tonight at the Palace Hotel Ballroom."

Yeah on second thought...that would be a bit cheesy dude.

Really the only thing with a PA your gonna lose it the antenna.

Could also mount it all in the console as well.

Complete PA System: 360-28 19DXIV 19DXIV and 360-28 Combo Walcott CB - CB Radio Super Store and Mobile Electronics Warehouse. at WalcottCB.com

Personally if you could find a combo unit like this, it would be the way to go IMOP.

Walmart.com: Midland Miniature Handheld CB/Weather Radio: Auto Electronics

Mount the PA controller unit and the handset in the center console and run the wires underneath to the harness and branch it into speakers, woofers, horn speaker etc. Most units are small enough to mount inside the armrest console.

Unless you find the head unit that fits perfectly in your dash, I wouldn't try and rice-in the smaller unit that most PA systems are controlled with, it will look stupid.

But I give you reps on the good idea. Nothing wrong with having some fun.

If you have the stock stereo in it, you could install it in the little cubby under the radio...

That Cobra unit looks like it would fit in there.

and BTW..I was poking fun before..When you said about girl in the leopard dress..it reminded me of the Blues Brothers movie.

Or do what I did, Get an iphone cord hooked up to your car, download the shotgun application...turn your speakers ALL the way up and at red lights turn to the car next to you and unload a clip. Nothing funnier then those 3 seconds of human reaction to a shotgun noise at 130db

great movie!... now that I think about it... thats probably been deep seeded in my mind to make me want to do something like this haha

Complete PA System: 360-28 19DXIV 19DXIV and 360-28 Combo Walcott CB - CB Radio Super Store and Mobile Electronics Warehouse. at WalcottCB.com

if I get that... i wont have to put an antenna on and I can just use it as a PA right? with the option to add an antenna later on right?

so my question is... where should I mount the PA Speaker... my Prelude Is bone stock minus a stronger alternator to power my subs

Glad you liked one of the links I posted up earlier for ya.

As for mounting the speaker, behind fron bumper, if you have a short ram intake, mount it on the passenger side in front of the front wheel so the splash guard hides it. Ton of room in back behind the rear bumper too.
