Honda Prelude 2001 - 83 Miles/130Km
Automatic
The car will start sometimes, and other times it will crank, "cough" and NOT start.
This is happening at 0 degree Celsius/32 F temp.
If i leave the car for a while, sometimes overnight, sometimes for 2 days and I go start again it will be fine.
Then if i leave it overnight for example, start the car, same issue not starting.
I took it to a mechanic yesterday and he cleaned out the battery heads, tested the battery everything was fine.
The car started just fine when it was there. It seems the problem happens when the car is left for a while, but once it starts I can start the car over and over without any issues.
I have read up a lot online to see what could be the problem, one that comes to mind is the main relay, but people where saying main relay will only do this if its super hot outside like in the summer.
I have also had the water pump, head valve gasket, and timing belt replaced about 4 months ago which I am not sure if has anything to do with this problem.
I am thinking of trying the "starting fluid" trick that some described in some of the forums.
Any thoughts on whats happening would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
