yo disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. while you have the battery disconnected clean out the throttle body and the butterfly. connect the battery, start the car and let it idle for 15 mins. what the problem is a air to fuel ratio. cpu thinks that everything is back to new configuration when its not throttle body is all dirty. thats why try it. see it all the time at the shop. 7 yr honda tech

Thanks...

I have come to believe that it is my FITV. Which is located on the throttle body.. correct?

Do I need to remove the throttle body to clean it? How exactly does one clean it thoroughly? And what is the "butterfly"?

you dont have to tak the throttle body off. just get some throttle plate cleaner at you local auto part store and a rag. spray the cleaner on the rag. take the intake off of the car. the "butterfly" is the throttle plate. you will have to manual open it up by hand. clean the actul plate it self and the throttle body real good. you can also take it off to clean it, but you will have to buy a throttle body gasket to replace the old one. hope this helps. very simple 20-30 mins top.

Thanks for all of your incorrect advice.

I had a bad ring and bad injector.
rebuilt the bottom end all forged parts and sleeved the block.

Runs like butta now.

For all of you prelude boosters with idle problems, be aware that if you boost beyond 5-8 lbs your rings will go. high miles make this easier to do. Also, the extra heat can play H3ll on your injectors which can cause a lot of the issues listed here.

BTW.
stop dissing my tuner. if you would like to visit the website and get an idea of what they build . Trick Engineering, Honda engine swaps, TE Automotive, custom turbo setups| Import Auto Technicians
they have not updated this site in a long time. but the info is good.

Oh yeah, one last point. you ALL are "fast and furious kids" if you wern't you wouldn't be tuning for power.

Any suggestions or possible answers as to why my 2001 2.2 automatic prelude tends to lose power and bogs down during rainy weather? It starts fine but acts like its gonna doe and bogs down, then when I give it gas it kicks in. Thank you for your replys.
