car not starting, help plz

Been having this problem with my car for a couple of weeks. Car was running fine until I let it stay parked for about 3 days. I had to move the car, so I started the car, moved it, and shut it right off, bout 30sec with motor on (shouldnt have done that). Let it park for like 4 more days and wanted to start it on the next morning. The car fired for like 1/2 a second, almost like I didn't hold the key long enough, and then died. Since then, I get nothing but engine turning over, no start.

Things I have done:
- let cylinder air out(remove plugs) and put in new plugs
- new dist cap and rotor
- I smelled plenty of fuel in chamber from each attempt at starting
- Timing belt is still on, as I turn the crank pulley, dist rotor moves as well
- starter does turn, accessory pulleys turn with it

Tried checking for spark, there's no spark
- battery reads 11.58 volts. it's under 12, but not that much. Should I be concerned bout that?
- tested coil in accordance with helms, one of the resistance readings was off, ordered a new one from Honda, which gives the same readings , still no start.
- want to test the ICM in the dist, but I can't find an actual test in the helms.... there's only the ICM Input Test, not something to actually test the unit.... am I right?

What else can I do, plz help.

When I get my distributor back from David you can borrow it to swap and test.

Kool, thanks. In the meantime, is there anything else I can check for?

I checked near my interior fuse panel and found an orange wire with a male end connector that's not hooked up to anything.... not sure where it goes to. I traced it back to a huge clump of other wires, so don't really know where it goes. Is it possible that my alarm could be preventing spark?

Have you had the ignition recall done? Could it somehow be your immobilzer?

I guess the new destributer will tell all.

Try pinching the fuel line and then starting it. I had the same problem whenever I had my car sitting for over a month without being started. My GF's dad suggested pinching the fuel line and cranking it, so I tried it and it worked. Every now and then I have to do this method, cause I need to figure out why my motor seems to be flooded at times.

Hmm... if there's no spark, not sure if limiting the fuel will help, but I'll give it a try anyways.

how would I be able to tell if it's the immobilizer? If the immobilizer is skrewy, would the engine still crank?

thnx for all the replies.

To check the immobilixer it is best to back diagnose, but you are right...... it wouldn't crank.

You have tried pulling the ignition wire out from the coil a bit to see if there is spark.... and no spark.

Did you check for voltage going to the coil with the key on? Check the fuses under the hood and in the kicker?

I'm sorry, I don't have my helms so I can't help you much more than that right now.
