Car Not Starting

Well I have this 98 Prelude that isnt starting.
Was running before and now doesnt start. Car cranks but doesnt wanna start. Its getting the spark and I replaced the main relay and still nothing. Now a mechanic I went to said it could be either the Main Relay or the fuel pump. So obviously its down to the fuel pump.

Where is the fuel pump located and is it easy to replace? I just need this car running.
Help plz

check your starter motor. Have someone tap it with a mallet while you are cranking. If it starts you need a new starter motor.

Your ignition switch may be bad. If you're 100% certain that MR and starter are
good. Check or replace that switch to see if it's the culprit.

Don't forget to share with us your finding and fix.

Good luck.

Guys he's saying the motor is Cranking but no start...

check if you got power @ the injectors is the easiest way, the main relay is wired to the pump & injectors.

You should also hear the buzz sound in the backseats when the key is turned on

If you dont have power take out the backseats & unscrew the access panel, the circle flange with the fuel lines is the pump. unplug connector check power & ground again with key on.

If you have power & ground: the pump is bad
If you have no power: use a powerprobe tool connect ground strap to the ground pin & power the positive side on the pump side. turns on pump good

Okay now theres only three things it could be if your pump is good:main relay(yours is new so cant be it), Ecu, engine harness wires not connected or bad ground.

First thing i would check would be ground at the coolant temp sensor.

This is the process i used, i had the same problem. replaced main relay ect, my problem was the ground at coolant temp sensor

This ground sends signal to ecu then sends power to pump & injectors

hope this helps

Okay Nevermind that post

If your getting spark then you should have power going to the pump etcs because if you dont got spark then theres no power cuz of ecu or vis versus

Its gotta be the fuel pump
