Car makes noise every so often, when off!

It sounds like a cell phone on vibrate in the engine bay, happens every oh say 30 minutes, while the car is off.... What is it?

More like the radiator fan coming on. My 3g did that until I changed the switch.

It's the EVAP system releasing excess fuel vapor pressure from the gas tank (your car is "burping"). It's normal.

You'll hear it less often as the weather gets colder because of less vapor pressure buildup.

Wow! Phew! I hear the same noise comming from my car ever since I got it-so now its just burping, how unmistakeably masculine.
