You are hitting your rev limiter.

when does it happen, when your car just reaches the warmed up stage or is your car already warmed up?

make sure it is warmed up and check your oil level. If you oil level is too low the rev limiter kicks in. I can rev my SS past 7k with no problem.

he shouldn't be hitting the limiter at 7K, though. Redline is 7500, and my limiter kicks is just after that.
perhaps it is a warming up and oil issue.

yeah my car is always warmed up and the oil level is fine.. i just got a minor tune up also... how do you get rid of the rev limiter? .. the rpm also flicks from 6.5-7 for some reason.. it would stop at 6.5 and after a second or so it would flick to 7 and then choke

The stock tach is inaccurate. You are still hitting the fuel cut at 7700 RPM. Read this thread, it has been discussed quite a few times.
