can't brake, keeps accelerating

if anyone can help it will be much appreciated.

my brother bought a 1998 prelude for his gf and been having soo many problems. i drove the car this morning and i noticed the car accelerated. i press the brake but it didn't brake much. luckily after some try was able to put the car in park. anyways i figure probably a one time thing got onto the freeway decided to go slow kept braking the whole way. went from 40mph to around 30mph. after that even while braking it went up to 30 to 40 to almost 50. there was traffic so had to brake all the way, couldn't. luckily was able to pull over the shoulder after some struggle was able to park it. although smoke was coming out. i'm guessing the tires.

sorry don't know much about cars. if anyone can help. tia

do not attempt to drive your car again. What were you thinking mate?

Looks like you have no brake pressure. Go to a shop tell them the problem, they will inspect all the hoses, calipers, pads, rotors and everything else related to the brake system.

Then go to the person where you mates bought the Prelude from, and demand an explanation.

Actually I think he has brake pressure, otherwise he wouldn't be able to stop at all. Sounds like the idle is set to something insane.

Seriously, do not drive the car.
