Cam gear mod

Im very sorry if this has been covered in anther thread i tried to find it but couldn't.

Ive been looking into upgrading my cam gears, maybe my cam as well. But as for just my cam gears being upgraded, i was wondering what diffrence i shoud expect. (power wise of course). It allows you to rev higher, am i right?

You most likely wont gain a lot of power. The aftermarket gears are often lighter than the stock ones which will reduce rotational mass and free up a small amount of horsepower. The main advantage is being able to retard/advance timing. Ive read around that slightly advanced timing will increase horsepower slightly as well but im not 100% sure of course.

kind of a pointless modification unless you have some other mods that can work in sync wiht the cam gears(usually aftermarket cams). you may be able to gain a small amount of power but without supporting bits and peices you wont really notice anything at all.

X2
A complete waste of money without bigger cams, other supporting mods, and a good tune.
