CAI Now Or Wait

I am wanting to get a CAI but by next fall my car is going to be switched to manual transmission and turbo'd. From what I understand a standard CAI will not work with a turbo, so is there a CAI or an intake I can buy that will work with and without a turbo?

It has to be modified to fit a supercharger as well.

When do you plan on doing the swap and turbo? You might want to hold off on it to save money for now, but you may just want to get it anyway because you'll need a better intake once you go forced induction anyway.

At the very least, remove your resonator and drop in a K&N filter. It'll sound better and free up a couple hp up top. That'll only cost about $40 or so and an hour to do the work.

If you're going turbo, then just hold off, unless you know the exact design of the piping for your turbo/intercooler setup. If so you may be able to get something that you can modify later for the turbo. But I'd still say hold off if you're gonna go turbo, becuase, and trust me, the money you'd spend now on the CAI will be spent many times over on unforeseen costs when doing the turbo install/tuning.

they just melt and reweld the metal. you could get that done at most shops that do the install of the turbo, without much cost.

Yeah there is no point on spending $150 now to just throw it away once you get turbo.
