bypassing CKP

Sup guys
I have a stock 00 lude and my cel came on for the CKP/TDC sensor

This sensor is on the oil pump and it would be a pain to get out,

Cant i just convert my engine to use the obd1 distributor which has the sensor inside the dizzy?
Would i have to get a obd1 ECU to use the obd1 dizzy??

Thanks

Why not just fix the problem? It's not that bad... you'll need to get to the timing cog but it's not like you need to remove the timing belt. As well, the CKP/TDC sensor on the oil pump has been known to be more reliable than the JDM distributor method. OBD1 still used the CKP/TDC sensor on the oil pump.
