buying 97 sh w/186,000

hi! just registered on this great site. I'm looking at a 97 sh with 186,000 miles.the atts light comes on after driving. don't know if this is a major or minor problem otherwise car seems to be in good shape. Please give me your thoughts about the atts system and how much I should pay for the lude. Thanks for your knowledge.

1st thing to do is get the code/the reason the atts light is on. Might be a cheap easy fix, might be an expensive hard fix.

Without knowing why it's on is only a guess that could be costly in the end.

Personally from the lack of info given here, I would walk away.

How much does he want?

Does ONLY the ATTS light come on or does the check engine light come on too?

Those are some high miles, and unless the car has been really well taken care of.. your better off finding something else.

Hey Rycon, asking $3,100. engine light does not come on. atts light came on the first 5 mins. of driving( fast back in forth steering). car seems to be kept up well. can you still drive with the atts light on without harming the system? THANKS!!

does the engine light come on when you turn the key? as in its not burnt out or missing? get the code for the atts. the type of problem that it is would be better bargaining for price.

Hey lilredlude, the engine light come on when i turn the key then goes off after a couple of secs. the atts also goes out. dealer chargers $95 to check codes. I guess i need to buy one. THANKS!

Yeah do not spend that. Check the code using the guide above.

Yes you can still drive the car with the ATTS deactivated and it will not harm the system.

The reason its important is because it could be something simple, or the entire ATTS system could be bad and need replacement.

If you don't care, you don't care.. but you wouldn't be here unless you did right? If its a transportation appliance then squeeze its remaining life out of it. But its an SH, and the ATTS is what makes an SH, otherwise its just a heavier lude with some extra cosmetic stuff.

Besides the ATTS, is there records of when the timing belt and water pump has been changed? Is there any service records at all? Has it ever been in a wreck?
