do trimming bumpstops actually lower the car?

No they don't. I think it just help to make sure that the springs don't bottom out when you hit a bump.

No, but when you do lower the car it is advised that you trim them a bit. With my H&R sports I think I trimmed the front a little and the back about half.

yeah i just got my h&r sports put in and both front and rear are trimmed.... was your front lower at first after you installed them?
