broken oil pressure sensor on atts unit

the wiring harness snapped off one of my oil pressure sensors for my atts unit on my 2001 sh. i looked it up and its over $200 to replace so i was wondering if i can leave the broken sensor screwed into the atts unit without the wiring harness attached and continue driving my car like that. will it cause steering problems or anything if one of the sensors isnt active? i dont really care about the atts to be active right now as long as i can still drive my car without damaging anything. im hoping i can fix it later when im not so tight for money.

You will have an ATTS light, and ATTS will be disabled. Other then that you should be fine.

FYI....when you do decide to fix it, simply find someone who is parting out their SH or ATTS or tranny + ATTS. Purchase a used sensor from them. It's what I did.

Damn, that's not cheap. I'm getting code 61 - Left Oil Pressure Sensor and I suspect I'm gonna need to replace the sensor to make it go away. What's involved in replacing the sensor? Do I need to drop the ATTS or can I do it from under the car?

It can be done without dropping ATTS, but you'll need to remove a few other items to get to it. It's a royal PITA.

I've got the same problem at the moment. Been like that for a few months now. I can't justify getting it fixed just yet. And I don't feel confident doing it myself either lol.

It's a lot easier if you know someone with long, skinny arms (like me).

Great. So is there a way to disable the ATTS without having the yellow ATTS light on the dash? I guess pulling the bulb would do it... Is there a fuse I could just pull until I decide to tackle this? I suppose I should also get under there and poke around to see what is in the way.

From what I've read, the light will still be on if you pull the fuse. If the fuse were to blow or was pulled out, then the ECU would turn on the light telling you there's an issue with the ATTS system. So really the only way to get rid of the light is to fix the problem or pull the bulb.

There are 2 oil pressure sensors, and one is easier to get to (right, I think). The other one is much harder to get to (left). They are on top of the ATTS unit and there's not much room to get a hand in there, let alone tools. Dropping the ATTS unit or removing the intake manifold seem like the only way to get to that one. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
