brake lights suddenly not working..... at all

ok so heres the background story, i bought a W.W. Type R style wing a few weeks ago with a third brake light, because my rear window is tinted and you can barely see the stock one anyway, so, i get the spoiler on and everything. run the wires for the light in the spoiler through the trunk and everything, and with my best guess, i figured that to get the spoilers light to work i would have to cut the wires for the stock 3rd brake light and splice the wings light in... none of the knowledge i have about electrical, would tell me that would be a bad idea, so thats what i did. so i snip, snip and splice it it in, and i have my dad come outside so he can see if it worked, and not only did the wings light not work, but now NONE or my brake lights are working, so i thought, ok, maybe i wired it backwards, and threw off the whole circut? so i switched, still nothing, so now im WTFing like a mug, so i just unspliced the wire and spliced the stock wire all back in place and put it all back, and its still not effing working at all! i checked the fuse for the brake light, and its perfectly fine, so i have no idea what happened... and clues or help would be marvelous.

if some parts made no sense, feel free to criticize my grammar, and ill correct it to the best of my ability.
