Brake Light on Cluster is Coming On and Off

Just wanted to see if I could get any info here before I take my car into the shop so I don't get ripped off.

The other day, I noticed that when I hit the brake pedal and come to a complete stop, the red brake light on my cluster has been coming on. When I tap the brake pedal it does not come on. Only when I am at a complete stop... when the brake pedal is pressed at like 90% or so down at a complete stop. When I release the brakes, it goes away.

My brake fluid is full, front brake pads are good, the rear is at like 15% and the emergency brake handle is released all the way down.

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Check your Break fluid pot level and topup if less.

check the flot under the brake fliud reservoir cap. Move it around a bit. I think it might be getting stuck.

Have you noticed if this happens more during colder weather? Reason I say this is I have the same problem only when it below say 40 F something. The light is coming on from the sensor on the float on top of the fluid reservoir. I've replaced the thing and it still comes on at time. Just keep a check on your fluids (as everyone should) and ignore that light.

It's a defective part. Another user even posted the TSB number for it in the link I posted. Really nothing you can do about it since you can't lubricate the float. Anything you put on it would just end in your brake fluid.
