brake fluid, emergency light connection...problem.

two days this has happened:

my Emergency Brake light came on and would not go out... I confirmed that it was all the way down by pulling it all the way up and down.

I have an SS... but I still pull the emergency Brake when I park the car... hold habits I guess. I check my history and I guess I never, ever had the brake fluid changed.

It appears to be right exactly on the line for brake fluid levels.
While I am driving... suddenly the E-brake light just goes away.
Should I definetly get my brake fluid changed? I have 160k+ miles now.

I have the EXACT same problem..only, I have 61,500 on my SS..I've been having this happen for like 2 years and figured it was some faulty wiring or something until I read the forums..I should really get around to checking my fluids

The float/switch in the brake master cylinder is probably bad. See the 2 wires coming out of it? Those are connected to the float/switch. It turns on the light when the fluid level gets too low but the switch itself can go bad, triggering the light.

OK, I'll admit I haven't actually seen it myself.
I'm just regurgitating info that I found on this site.
Seriously, you guys should do a search or something.

In all seriousness, the switch is probably inside the extended part of the cap. Maybe it is just stuck. Attached is a diagram for you.
