Bought a used DC Sports Strut Bar...

...it's actually going to above 40 degrees tomorrow so I'm planning on installing it if it doesn't rain. Is there any suggestions from you guys on how to do so? I'm assuming I just unscrew the existing bolts, drop it in and replace them; is there anything I should know?

nah thats basically it..but i dont think the DC sports bar works as well as spoon or neuspeed etc...since it has holes in it and bends pretty easy.

Thanks, I had planned on getting the neuspeed but I found this one on ebay for $30+shipping so I couldn't really pass it up.

Strut bars are pretty much the same... I have ebay el cheapos front and rear struts on stock susp, and they made a HUGE difference in handling.

as long as you tighten everything back up correctly, the difference in "flex" between the different brands of struts is only measured in Millimeters.

The difference between bars is probably finish and look compared to strength most times. The holes in the middle shouldn't affect the strength that much.

i have nuespeed, dc and spoon and there is a flex diff between all of them

you guys claining there is no diff......do you own more than one brand????

dc moves by putting some pressure from hand, nuespeed is actually really stiff, spoon i could see what i thought was a slight bend with very heavy pressure

now as far as performance diff. I cant really say... there may be non at all. And i wasnt trying to be a dick, i just wanted to inform other members reading this that there is a diff between teh bars

I can't make my ebay strut flex at all by hand... it's a solid piece of metal.

Besides, when properly installed and tightened, like I said before, the amount of "flex" in ANY bar will be minute (measured in milimeters)... some may go a little more than others, but the big improvement comes from just HAVING a strut bar.

I wasn't saying there was no difference, i don't own any of them actually, but in general the difference will be fairly small relatively speaking.

Yeah I can make the DC flex when pressure is applied down on top of the bar. But that really shouldn't matter as the force that is being applied to it when installed is from the sides and not the top.

but if the two sides are being twisted and pushed together during a turn where is it going to move???

i would assume up and down since it is able to move that direction

Either way, it will help you and i know this wasn't the point of the thread, i was just trying to give more info
