Are body kits illegal?

Hey i decided to go with the black widow kit but it doesnt have a hole for the turn signal i think, correct me if i am wrong. But isn't illegal if u dont have any turn signals in the front? would it still be ok , and would a body kit void the warrentee

thanks

body kits are legal and all but yes you do need a turn signal in thefront of your car. and no it won't void your warranty.

dumb question, but no its not illegal from what i know. cops in muah opinion usually dont care that you dont have front turn sigs, they care more about the rears and i should know cause i got a ticket for muah lights being white and he didnt even check the fronts.

and the part about the bodykit voiding the warrenty, why would it void the warrenty if you could buy the optional oem bodykit?

id wire the turn signal lights to the clearance lights inside the headlights....or drill a hole for the signal in the body kit.

well here is my ride

if u get the widow kit u have to costum mount the turn signals. i can change your clear corners into turn signals but it wont be to bright. i did that at first and i still got a ticket. first because they are to close to the ground and they werent bright enough. u probably will get away with it. its just i live in fremont california. worste place to own a import car. get hella messed with out here. anyways here is what my body shop did. i cleared my turnsignals and they took the vertical peice of fyberglass off and mounted my turm signals. it looks hella clean. not to sure what it will cost becuase i got a deal. but here is the pics. kinda hard to see the turn signals but u get the idea. i think it looks really clean.

To a certain extent. Most of the kits out there require you to remove the 5mph foam guard...and that isn't legal...and that will cause honda to blame things on that foam thing not being there if accident issues ever occur.

Well...here's what i did, I used the front bumper lenses on the near bottom of my Black widdow front and wired my turn signal wires to it and make it my turn signals, so now my front marker lenses are my turn signals, i can't believe no one else thought of this, it's clean looking and easy. OEM bodykit won't void warranty because it's a honda part installed by the dealer. A body kit would void the warranty on the exterior of the car. Any repainting or modification to the body will void it. Just like an alarm will void the electrical system of the car. Personaly, there's no such thing as a warranty. My warranty on my first car was voided for a K&N filter.

Actually... ANYTHING you do to your car is illegal, provided you didn't have it done by the dealer. Just that the import craze is so widespread, cops let a lot of it go. Example would be the hyperwhite headlights... a lot of em are illegal, but since so many cars have it, cops don't bother with it. What are they gonna do? Give EVERYONE tickets? Don't think the paperwork is worth it.

I don't want to believe that. Did a Honda dealer tell you this?

I'd be furious if I was denied warranty service because of my Sidewinder alarm.

Anything you add to car voids warrenty

I was told by honda dealer ship anything you add to the car such as AEM cold air intakes engine mods new shocks wheels and such besides body voids warrenty unless the work is done by honda dealership. Such as JOHN EAGLE HONDA in Texas. Body kits can be done by anyone and it wont void warrenty..... heh but if you get a body pack you have to go all the way heh or the body kit isnt worth it

Yes a Honda dealer told me this. Basically, everything will void a warranty. Even a a tiny chip set by a pebble will void the warranty on your headlights per Honda dealer also. That's why I believe, there's no such thing as a warranty. So whatever you do, don't spend the extra 3G's for an extended warranty.
