Body Kit Installation

I want to buy a body kit and was wondering what the best way to do it was. I don't know how-to install them so do most people take it to a body shop and let them do it, or is it easy? Also, if a body shop should install it, should I order it to my house then bring it there, or do they usually want you to ship it to them?

I think it comes down to what type of kit it is, fiberglass or whatever. I dont think it matters when it comes to ordering it, but you may save a little on shipping if it shipped to the autobody, but thats just a guess since its a buss, and not a residental address.

depends what you get....

if you get the OEM kit, the install can be done yourself... very very simple

took me about 2 hours to do both sides/front/rear

Its also easy if you get the WW RS kit... since its a lip kit. I had my body shop paint it, then me and my friends did the install.

However if you get anything other then a lip kit... I suggest takeing it to the body shop since extra sending may be required. Especially when it comes to fiber glass kits.... those thing rarely come with a perfect fit. They almost all the time have to be modified. Plus dont forget.. you gonna need to paint it anyway .. so might as well have them do it.

As far as ordering... shipping to business address is cheaper... but not all the time. Ask the company who you getting the kit from if they will do a lesser price on business addy then on residential. Mine was the same to business or residential.. SO i shipped it to my house... I LOVE GETTING CAR PARTS IN THE MAIL

go with a polyurethane kit...
WW, OEM, greddy lip.... there the best i seen so far when it comes to fitting... fiberglass kits are cheap... doesnt fit right.. in time cracks will appear... you really need a good bodyshop to install it for you...also i hate it when the bodyshop doesnt prep it right and you can see waves in the kit... looks so generic....

How about the VIS mugen replica kit? Do these kits usually have fitment problems? Do they have problems fitting JDM fogs into the slots?

I heard that the fitment can be pretty good. Alfred used to go up and hand pick the kits that people ordered from him. Anyone seen him lately?

have a body shop do it. but watch them do it.
so next time when you need to take it off or change kits you can do it yourself...this is what i did. so if you wont mess up anything.
