Blown engine or not?

I have a 1998 base auto prelude. so I was taking my friend home and my car starting overheating. the temp gauge kept rising up so i pulled over and turned the car off and a bunch of white smoke starts coming out the hood. I didn't think it was anything except for anti freeze overflowing and hitting the motor. I waited like 4 minutes to let it cool down a little and then i drove like 5 more miles and it started to overheat even worse and clouds of white smoke was coming from the hood again but way worse. I turned the car off and waited like 20-30 minutes and I tried starting it back up but it wouldn't do anything at all but make a little noise and all the lights in the car and outside lights kept flickering on and off. so i call my brother and he brings his truck to try and jump start it and nothing happens again. so i had him take me home and the next morning i got it towed home and now every time i get into the car all the lights flicker on and off and its causing my battery to die. is the flickering telling me that the engine is dead. sorry i don't know jack crap about cars. im so freaking hurt right now. Im about to have a kid and now I have no car & no money what so ever to even get mine fixed. I don't know what to do!!! ):

you have to choose 1 of these:
a) new engine
b) new car

Chill out ......start looking everywhere. Take your motor apart and really diagnose the problem. IfI its just the block replace it. Ppl sell them on craigslist all the time for cheap. Look in surrounding cities to. On here and other prelude forums.. or look for a way to get another car and if yours is in good condition start selling parts or sell the chassis as a whole. If your car is in good condition minus the motor you should be able to get at least a down payment out of it.

well this really sucks. & I cant really take my motor apart because I have no tools at my house. & i don't really want to sell it because its the nicest lude around where i live. i wish someone could throw me a motor for free. that would be a miracle. :/

I have money but im like literally broke. The most I would spend on a new engine is 200-300 with between 50-125 thousand miles but thats about it..

remember that even if you get another engine, it would be wise to open it and check everything and replace gaskets/seals

if you dont do so, its more likely that you end up into this same situation again

so without money you cant really do smart moves. exept sell that car (or parts) and then get some cheap car

IMO you cannot save your lude with 300 bucks

In the future, don't ever drive a car that has overheated.

Ever.
