black widow... poly or fiber?

hey guys,
is the ground designs 2000 black widow body kit fiberglass or polyeurothane?
If you wanna throw in your two cents about which is better, that would be cool too.

thanks

Fiberglass should be cheaper than poly, the only drawback is that it cracks much easier than the poly does. If your car is going to be really low with the kit, spend the extra few hundred and get POLY, cuz if u hit a curb, fibreglass will crack, poly SHOULD scratch. That is why the stock honda kit is POLY.

GD2000 kits are fiberglass. There is aso a degree of how strong fiberglass can be --- imitation kits usually are weaker in integrity and structure, hence less layers of fiberglass. Just have to be more careful w/ fiberglass kits, specially the front bumper since that is prone to more abuse ex. rock chips, scrapes etc.........

if you get the kit from GroundDesigns the fiberglass is pretty thick. Good quality kit but it will still crack. I speak from experience.

I think the factory honda kit is the only poly kit. Wings West kits are Urethane. Most others are fiberglass. Fiberglass isn't bad if you are careful. The black widow front end prob. hangs lower than any other. Don't plan on lowering your car much if you have one. One advantage of fiberglass is that it is easiest to paint and sand down. Some body shops where I am won't touch urethane.

imoto.com just came out with a urethan style of the black widow kit. the guy i talked to claims it hella strong and will take alot of abuse to crack it. anyways just a thought for all u guys saying not to lower your car with this kit. i plan on getting this front whenever my original black widow front ****s up. then i can slam my front and not have to worry to much

hmm.. I was under the impression that the OEM Honda kit was some sort of ABS plastic or something... but not polyurethane. there are poly kits out there but they're rarer and like other people said, usually pricy(ier) than fiberglass. fiberglass kits are far and wide the most common and cheap.

so from what I've heard:
1. the ABS plastic is by far the best material for body kits but also the most expensive. lightweight and flexible. e.g. OEM Honda kit
2. polyurethane is pretty good too but deforms under heat and sags over time thus affecting fitment. but is usually still pretty good at absorbing small impacts. e.g. genuine WW RS kit??
3. fiberglass is the cheapest and easiest to mold and therefore the most popular (common). brittle and cracks easily but dirt-cheap. e.g. most imitation kits but a notable exception would be the genuine Mugen kit which is also fiberglass but produced at an exceptionally higher level of quality.

..thats it to the best of my knowledge... someone prove me wrong or otherwise I think that should all be true.

Yeah, look through Super Street or something I think like two companies are making GD2000 BW II style kits in poly. I think the other one is Street Weapon.

BTW what do you guys think of the "drift" front end from Street Weapon?

I was thinking of gettin the WW RS kit. Since it made out of poly and i live in NYC its the best deal for me. But i wasnt aware of other companies other then WW making poly kits. can someone post some web addresses with poly kits of 5GENs May be i would get those instead of RS.
