Best Stock Tyre Choice

Hey guys well I am after the best stock tyre choice?

I have a list from another prelude enthusiast website not naming who.

205/50/16 - Recommended 16” Size Tire
215/45/16 - Larger Contact Patch
215/50/16 - Larger Contact Patch, Overall Diameter is Larger
225/45/16 - Even Larger Contact Patch, Minimum of 7" wide wheel is Recommended

What it doesn't say is what is best for our stock blades in terms of size?

We have 205/50/16 87V tyres so I thought we should have that size. Some people have recommended 215/45/16 as it has a better contact patch and the walls are slighty smaller and stronger. I want more grip/performance and longer lasting tyres. Obviously it does depend on the tyre grade/manufacturer itself but what is the best size for our 16 inch blades?

Any help would me awesome I have searched for the last 6 hours and haven't found much!

then go with a wider tire with a lower sidewall with a rain/sipped tread pattern with multiple water channels in it. But he lower sider wall will cause more distubance and less cushion going over bumps. But it will allow less flex lateraly through the tire and therefore better handling.

When I ran 225/45/16s on the stock wheels I would get rub on full lock, not a big deal but something to think about. Also depending on what actual tire it is if you're not using a 7" wide wheel you could actually lose road patch from the tires pulling in to fit the 6.5" wheel. What about moving to a different wheel? Something that has a little more aggressive offset and comes in a 7" width might look better as well as support a better tire.

Consider 215/50/16. Still comfortable more performance while getting better gas mileage.

I run 205/50/16 in the winter and then 205/45/17 in the summer. I find it better then 215/40/17. Protects the rim from all these pot holes around town plus it has a sort of stretched look which I like.

You run 17 inch tyres in summer on your 16 inch stock blades?

Or you have another set of rims?

Yeah I am thinking of 215/50/16 or just the stock size 205/50/16 for comfort.

Lol. I have a different set of rims.

50 series you'll have more comfort. 45 series are fairly stiff but I can still deal with it. No clue how people do 35 series on 18's let a lone 40 on 17's.
