Best ski/snowboard rack?

I did some research on these and i read that Yakima makes a good one for our cars. Any of you guys have experience with this rack? At first I was looking at a Thule, but i read that there's a lot of wind noise associated with it. Or if you guys have another suggestion, that would be appreciated.

Well you can always just put it on when you go boarding.
Cuz I'm in the market for a rack too.
I'm taking it off when I'm not using it.

I'm just gonna put it on whenever i go snowboarding. I just went up like last week. I was about to go this weekend too, but i'm still kinda hurt from last week...fell on my ass hella hard my last ride down the slope that day. But ya Alex, i might go next weekend...probably to Sierra or Sugarbowl. That's why i'm looking at the Yakima since it's removable.

I would go with Yakima over Thule. I had a Thule for my accord and it sucked. The locks would freeze and it was a PITA to take off and put back on. It would be so nice to go riding again but I promised myself I would never ride east coast mountains again after moving back from SLC.

Yeah i'm leaning towards the Yakima right now. How was the wind noise with the Thule though? Oh yeah and how much was it?

I have the Yakima rack on my Diamante right now and I think its pretty good. Its held up for 2 years of abuse and 2 roundtrips from GA to NY w/ over 100lb of luggage and my mountain bike on there. If you want to take it off a lot, the Yakima should be fine since it hasn't scratched my car yet. Just make sure you have a friend w/ you to help take it off.

As for the snowboard attachment, the new Lift Ticket looks pretty good and I have the Big Powderhound which is the previous version. For some reason mine don't lock sometimes and I've had an incident where the front mount popped and the boards almost came off. I think it might have been my friend just forgot to latch it down properly b/c I've never had a problem when I put them on myself. They are strong though since I had 4 boards pop off the front one and the back one didn't snap even w/ air pushing on that much surface area doing nearly 80mph.

You guys can still go boarding now? The season in upstate NY is already over and it was really bad this year too. I scratched the hell out of my board since it got up to 70 degrees in February and the entire mountain was just slush and rocks.

Thanks Jkuao and all for the replies. Yeah there's some fresh powder up in the Lake Tahoe area...i'm hoping for more in the coming weeks. I'm wanting to get a new board in a couple of days and i wanna use it before the end of the season.
