i HIGHLY recommend getting Optiblue H1's (100w). I got them 5 months ago and they have been perfect ever since. They shine very bright, and are extremely white. Goto, http://www.autodyanmic.com this place is my personal favorite for accessories. They have lots of stuff, and very cheap, and great service too.
lude2k....nice front-end! is that the original mugen front or one of the knock-off ones. if it is a knock-off, how is the quality (dents, pinholes, etc.) and is it made out of fiberglass?
Stock....I went through 4 sets of after market bulbs last year. BIG waste of money. And the dealer always blame the fault on me by telling me that i touched the bulb . They never admitt that it was actually manufacturer defect.

Have you had any issues with running a 100w bulb? Melted housing & such?

JDM PIAA Superwhite 55w : $65 : Pretty neato, just a bit brighter.
::: 7 months, 1 bulb dies.
JDM PIAA Plasma Blue 65w: $110 (ouch) : Blue/Purple. Illegal. Tickets.
::: 1 month, police don't like it.
JDM Polarg Euro-White 55w: $45 : Almost identical to PIAA superwhite.
::: lost these in an accident
JDM Raybrig Metal White 55w: $65 : Cool. Bluer than Superwhite. No trace of green though. Very nice.
::: 5 months, now they're my highbeams
JDM PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow 55w: $50 : MY FAVORITE! Yes...
::: 1 year and 3 months.. and still going
Let me elaborate. I think I've posted this once before. Image the color of those Lexus IS300 headlights with the yellow fogs. These lights are amazing in the Prelude reflector. I absolutely LOVE them. They are one of the best headlights I've used (as you can see I've been through a span of decent brands too). Install is the same deal as other high output bulbs.. no contact. Here's how the light looks like.
- from very very very far away (1+ miles), it looks stock.
- from the cars ahead of you, they look *EXACTLY* like HID. I don't know how to explain this. But it does not resemble those Superwhites or bluish superwhites. It's remarkably close to HID.
- from the car a couple lanes over, they appear stock.
- if you stand 4-5 feet from your car and look into the headlight housing they are yellow. if you kneel down to level at which other drivers are sitting in their car, you see what they see.
the light emitted onto the road has no blue in it. it is purely yellow. the visibility is incredible. it's MUCH different than what you see when your driving a car with superwhites. any of you guys going to the Bay Area Prelude meet this month can check them out. I just fixed the shock on my Prelude.

Philips VisionPlus bulbs. Had my pair for almost 5 months now and still going. Philips claims these are 50% brighter, and I believe their claim; especially noticeable on dark roads. The headlights look very white when looking straight at them and fairly bright and cheap ($16 each). I wonder what they would look like if hooked up to a Catz Zeta. A dude on Edmunds.com has tried both VisionPlus and Philips Premium on his 5th gen and he claims the Premiums are better in terms of visibility.

I have Vision Plus as well and the improvement was very noticable compared to the other after market bulbs I tried. They are brighter and have a longer and wider beam. They are a better bulb. In fact, I had to aim them down just a little bit cause I was getting other drivers flashing their hi beams at me.
There's a definite improvement in the lo beams. Hi beams have extended range also. Nice and white.
PIAA Super White 55 watt bulbs in my Civic HB and RAZO in the 5th gen Prelude. Ithink they are very bright compared to stock. You can get the same quality bulbs from www.fosmo.com in England and for a lot less shipped to your door. They offer Raybrig and Osram in a Super White 30+ 55 watt size.
