What is the best way to remove the upper ball joint?

If you mean how to remove it from the control arm-it has to be pressed out. You can do it with a rental tool or have it done at a machine shop. If you mean separating it from the upright/knuckle-you need a pickle fork tool.

yes i mean pressing it out. im trying to install an adj ball joint and am trying to find out the easiest way to remove the factory ball joint. i went to pep boys, but where i live they are a bunch of rednecks who told me to cut it out. where is the best place to rent a ball joint puller?
