Bad Bad Bad???

I just have 2 questions for you guys.

1) Yesterday I was taking a cruise when I decided to push the car a bit (Seeing that i almost never push the car) and I was going from 1st to 2nd and then when i decided to go to 3rd I jammed it into I guess it was 5th gear and it made this bad noise like I was grinding the gears so I took it out and put it into 3rd with no problem.. The car still seems like it is driving fine I was just scared if I did somthing bad ????

2) I lowered my car with 1.4 H&R Sport springs 1 month ago, ever since I did it I find that everytime I push the car the car feels like it wants to go left??? The car has had the alignment done and drives straight all the time it is just when I am pushing it off a light ?? What could be the problem..

Thanks in advance...

The problem you describe could be alignment, but it's more than likely torque steer amplified by the stiffer suspension, there's not much you can do about it.

If you're worried, get your transmission fluid changed at yout next service, it's $20 or $30, and will give you piece of mind. With the synchro issues on 5th gens, I get my transmisison fluid changed every second oil change, made a big difference. You probably didn't hurt anything, though, transmissions were designed with the occassional teeth chattering in mind.

If your car is pulling to one direction I would say it's your alignment. When you first put your spings on your car should have been aligned, however, after they "set" you may have to do it again. It isn't a big deal...As for the tranny, I wouldn't worry about it.
