I usually park on flat surfaces so I only occasionally need to leave my car in gear and the e-brake on. Today, I parked and left it in reverse and when I came back and turned the car on; I forgot it was in gear and not neutral. After the big thunk from hell, I restarted and drove away. The atts light was on. The first time this has happened. I turned the car off and back on and it went away. Anyone ever had this happen before?
Happens almost everytime I stall the car and turn it back on without turning the key to off position. If you turn the car off completely and start then the light won't come on.
Oneludedude - I have a 98 and I got the ball joint (there's a joke there somewhere) recall done. Are there others?
White98SH - Thanks for letting me know that this isn't uncommon. My plan is to check the ATTS tomorrow on the way to work and make sure it works well. Of course, I do this anyway. I don't really need an excuse.
