Apexi N1 FTL...Extra hole you shouldn't be there

After 2 weeks or so I finally went to find out why my baby sounds like a ricer when I downshift. The entire rear of the muffler is rusted out. Couple spots holding the metal on but you can see right in. Ive got several options and I need a lil help. I can get a Mugen which I love the sound its nice and deep like what I have now, I can order a new muffler only from apexi ( does anyone know if you can do that?), OR i can have them cut it weld a circle of metal and there, cut a hole out and stick the pipe and weld it back in. Obviously the last option is cheaper but is there anything wrong in doing it? Another thought I had was, and if you have it please say so, getting the Netami Mugen replica muffler for ~$150 i think they go for. As always thanks for any input.

My Roommate had the same thing happen to his N1. They're cheap. He bought an aftermarket copy of the N1 axle back for pretty cheap. When we put it on, it looked better quality than the N1.
